INDIGENOUS BURSARIES SEARCH TOOL: Use the Indigenous Bursaries Search Tool to search more than 750 bursaries, scholarships and incentives across Canada, offered by governments, universities and colleges, private and public companies, individual Canadians, organizations and others aimed at Indigenous students. ABORIGINAL LEARNING LINKS is a web portal that provides resources for Aboriginal learners wishing to pursue or continue college or university (post-secondary) studies in British Columbia. Find helpful information on planning your education, paying for school (including band sponsorship, scholarships & bursaries, loans, etc), Campus Services, Housing, Childcare, and Trades. WESTBANK FIRST NATION: EDUCATION ASSISTANCE Education assistance is open to WFN Members and status aboriginals living on WFN Lands who are in grades K-12 and attending school full time from September to June. The allowance subsidizes the cost of school fees and school supplies. Applications are accepted annually from August 1 - September 30. Only complete applications will be accepted. OKANAGAN NATION ALLIANCE: Building a Better Future Bursary The award provides financial support to eligible Syilx/Okanagan Nation members enrolled or accepted into a recognized university or college on a full-time basis in a minimum 2 year program. Created In partnership with the Okanagan Nation Alliance, the FortisBC financial award program is open to all Syilx/Okanagan Nation members. It was created to advance and support the education goals of First Nations in British Columbia. The primary focuses are Scholarships, Bursaries, and First Nations Language Revitalization. They have funding programs for Indigenous learners and First Nation communities in B.C, Indspire is a national Indigenous registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people for the long term benefit of these individuals, their families and communities, and Canada. Their vision is to enrich Canada through Indigenous education and by inspiring achievement. In partnership with Indigenous, private and public sector stakeholders, Indspire educates, connects and invests in Indigenous people so they will achieve their highest potential. Indigenous students pursuing post-secondary education, apprenticeships, skilled trades, technology programs or a variety of other programs can apply for these bursaries, scholarships, and awards. B.C. Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) offers information about financial supports for Indigenous students who do not have Band membership. Use BC's Career Guide for Indigenous People to support your career planning journey, all the way from exploration to success on the job. The Guide offers information on career exploration, skills training, education and funding support, and how to connect to employers. There is also a link to a YOUTH specific page of resources.
